PROVINCIAL NOMINATION PROGRAM
Canada has signed separate agreements with each of the ten provinces and three territories for nomination of skilled workers by those provinces and territories. By virtue of those agreements Canadian provinces and Territories can nominate permanent residents to live in those provinces and meet the labour shortage and demand of skilled workers in those areas. The following provinces and territories are participating in this program:
- Alberta
- British Columbia
- Manitoba
- Nova Scotia
- New Brunswick
- New Foundland & Labrador
- Nunavut
- Northern Territories
- Ontario
- Prince Edwards Island
- Quebec (Separate agreement)
- Saskatchewan
- Yukon
Provincial nomination program has been very popular in recent years due to very high threshold of Federal programs. Provincial programs have comparatively soft eligibility criteria. However, each province has its own demographic composition due to which most of their nomination programs are either occupation restricted or job offer based. For high tech and technical jobs, job offer route may work. Other applicants have to adopt the occupations in demand route.

PROCESS:
Provincial Nomination is a two step process:
- Provincial Processing
- Federal Processing
Applicants first submit an Expression of interest (EOI) to the said province where their profile qualifies. Upon receiving an invitation to apply, their full application along with supporting documents is submitted to the provincial immigration department. There is a provincial application fee as well that is paid at this stage. Upon completion of the eligibility assessment nomination certificate is issued to the applicant along with a work Permit support letter.
Applicants then submit an application for Permanent Resident Visa to the Federal government. Besides they may submit Work Permit applications to come earlier and start working in the province as the federal processing of PR visa could be time consuming, particularly in case of Paper applications. The Federal government assesses the applicant and his family for admissibility concerns as enumerated below.
HOW TO GET A JOB OFFER?:
Foreign nationals are strongly advised to visit Canada and visit the participating community. An in-person visit helps to meet employers and prove them your suitability for the job they have.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS BY FEDERAL IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT (IRCC)
- ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT
As a first step applicants are assessed for their eligibility in the said class of immigration.
- ADMISSIBILITY ASSESSMENT
After completion of eligibility review, applicants and any accompanying family members are assessed for Admissibility as per the Canadian Immigration & Refugees Protection Act. The admissibility assessment process can take longer depending upon country of origin of the applicant, country of Application and several other factors. The seven factors that can make an applicant inadmissible from applying for Canadian Permanent Residence are:
- Security
- Human or International Rights Violation
- Serious Criminality
- Organized Criminality
- Health Issues
- Financial Reasons
- Misrepresentation

- Eligible candidates are invited for a Zoom meeting with our consultant at which applicants get a chance to discuss their case at length.
- Applicants are sent our retainer agreement
- Upon receipt of signed retainer agreement and initial instalment of Professional fee, client file is opened at our end.
- Client is sent a link of our CRM in which client can track all his records, payment, upload documents, actions performed by our team and progress of client application.
- At Euro Immigration Consultants, we charge our professional fee in 2-3 instalments as per the task ahead.
