POST GRADUATE Work Permit for International Students:
International students in Canada enrolled at DLIs whose programs of study are approved for a post graduate work permit are eligible to apply for this open work permit.
The duration of PGWP is 8 months to 3 years depending upon the length of post secondary studies in Canada. If a student has complete two semester studies in Canada will get 8 months work permit, those who studied 1.5 ( 3 semesters) in Canada will get work permit of 1.5 years; those who studied 4 terms or more upto 4 years in Canada will receive maximum work permit of three years or upto the expiry of your passport, whichever is less.
Applicants can engage in any work (except restricted ones) in Canada. Their work experience in Canada enable them to apply for Permanent Residence in Canada under Canadian Experience Class.
